Dr Peter Hayes

MBBS (Syd) FRACP

Dr Peter Hayes provides consultations in all areas of adult cardiology and specialises in non invasive diagnostic imaging testing.

He undertook specialist cardiology training at St Vincent's hospital, Sydney and a further fellowship in echocardiography with research projects including novel treatment of adult congenital heart disorders

Peter has lived and worked in Newcastle since 2002. He holds a staff specialist cardiologist position at John Hunter hospital and a conjoint lecturer position at the University of Newcastle.

He  performs and reports transthoracic, transoesophageal echocardiograms and supervises and reports exercise stress echocardiograms, pharmacologic stress echocardiograms and exercise stress ECGs.

 

Dr Stuart Murch

BMed DMedSci FRACP FSCMR

Dr Stuart Murch is a clinical cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist, with experience in transthoracic, transoesophageal and stress echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.

Stuart grew up in Newcastle and studied medicine at The University of Newcastle. He undertook cardiology specialist training at Homerton University Hospital, London, UK and St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, Victoria.

Stuart then trained further in cardiac imaging, completing fellowships in cardiac MRI, cardiac CT and echocardiography at University College London Hospitals, UK. He has attained Australasian level A accreditation in cardiac CT and is a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.

Stuart is currently Director of Cardiology at Calvary Mater Hospital Newcastle.

 

Dr Rajinder Harjit Singh

BMedSci (Hons) MBBS FRACP

Dr Rajinder Harjit Singh is a cardiologist specialising in heart failure and pulmonary hypertension, with experience in all aspects of clinical cardiology.

He studied medicine at the University of Queensland and did his internship and basic physician training in Newcastle. He undertook specialist cardiology training at Launceston General Hospital, and did his fellowship in heart failure and pulmonary hypertension at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, where he was involved in a number of international research projects.

He is currently a staff specialist cardiologist at the John Hunter and Maitland Hospitals, and has admission rights at Newcastle Private Hospital, Maitland Private Hospital, Lake Macquarie Private Hospital and Lingard Private Hospital.

He is interested in and manages a wide variety of adult cardiovascular conditions and also performs and reports transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, exercise stress ECGs, as well as right heart catheterisations and cardiac biopsies.
